Design Statement
The project has been approached with consideration for its physical location and is tailored to climatic conditions. Connectivity plays a central role in this multi-layered design. With simple strong moves, the design elevates the property's untamed rugged coastal character to create a flexible framework that will withstand and respond to change. In fact, change is welcomed as an opportunity to fine-tune the maturing garden. By highlighting ecological patterns, the design draws the observer into close engagement with nature which in return highlights the essence of the site. Spaces evoke different energies and nature co-designs the garden rooms. A selection of different scales provides a range of dynamics within the landscape. While making an impressive statement, the design smoothly blends into the wider landscape.
